Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Start by gathering all the ingredients for the salad. Wash and dry the mixed greens, and chop them into bite-sized pieces if necessary.

  2. 2

    Cook the Chicken

If not already cooked, grill the chicken breast until fully cooked and no longer pink in the center. Let it rest for a few minutes, then slice it into strips.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook bacon slices over medium heat until crispy. Remove from skillet, let cool, and crumble into pieces.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Eggs

Hard-boil the eggs by placing them in a pot of cold water, bringing it to a boil, then covering and letting it sit for 10-12 minutes. Remove from heat, cool in cold water, peel, and slice.

  5. 5

    Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the tomatoes into small cubes.

Vinaigrette Preparation

  1. 6

    Mix the Vinaigrette

In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Salad Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Salad

In a large bowl or platter, layer the mixed greens as the base. Top with sliced grilled chicken, crumbled bacon, diced tomatoes, sliced hard-boiled eggs, and shredded cheddar cheese.

  2. 8

    Add Croutons and Dressing

Sprinkle Doc’s croutons over the top and drizzle the maple vinaigrette generously over the salad just before serving. Toss gently if desired.
