Method

Prepare the Patty

  1. 1

    Form the Patty

In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently and form into a patty that is about 3/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 3

    Slice the Vegetables

Wash the lettuce leaf and pat it dry. Slice the tomato and onion into even slices. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Prepare Pickles

Slice the pickles into thin slices if they are not pre-sliced.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Bun

Optionally, toast the burger bun on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom half of the bun. Place the cooked patty on top, followed by the lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles. Finally, place the top half of the bun over the assembled burger.
