Method

Preparing the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Add Old Bay Seasoning

Once the water is boiling, add 2 tablespoons of Old Bay seasoning to the pot. Stir well to combine.

  3. 3

    Poach the Shrimp

Carefully add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the boiling seasoned water. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  4. 4

    Drain and Cool

Using a slotted spoon, remove the cooked shrimp from the pot and transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for a few minutes.

  5. 5

    Drain Again

Once cooled, drain the shrimp again and set aside.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon of hot sauce, and 0.5 teaspoon of salt.

  2. 7

    Mix Well

Stir the mixture until all ingredients are well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste if needed.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the poached shrimp on a serving platter or individual plates.

  2. 9

    Serve with Cocktail Sauce

Serve the shrimp with the house-made cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
