Burger Preparation
1. Prepare the Patties
In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide the mixture into 20 equal portions and shape them into patties.
2. Cook the Patties
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
3. Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
4. Assemble the Burgers
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, slices of onion, and pickles. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then top with the other half of the bun.
5. Serve
Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite sides.
