Sandwich

Method

Sandwich Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all necessary ingredients for the Reuben sandwich.

  2. 2

    Butter the Bread

Spread butter on one side of each slice of rye bread.

  3. 3

    Layer the Ingredients

On the unbuttered side of two slices of rye bread, layer the corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and a tablespoon of Russian dressing each.

  4. 4

    Top the Sandwich

Place the other two slices of rye bread on top, buttered side facing out.

  5. 5

    Grill the Sandwich

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  6. 6

    Slice and Serve

Remove from skillet, slice the sandwiches in half, and serve hot.

Fries Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to make fries.

  2. 8

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 9

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully place the potato strips into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  4. 10

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

  5. 11

    Serve with the Sandwich

Place the fries on the plate alongside the Reuben sandwich for a complete meal.
