Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, mix the warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. Transfer it to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it out into a 12-inch circle.

  3. 7

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a piece of parchment paper. Tear the fresh mozzarella into pieces and evenly distribute them over the dough.

  4. 8

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Slice the fresh tomatoes and arrange them on top of the cheese. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.

  5. 9

    Bake the Pizza

Carefully slide the parchment paper with the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 10

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves. Let it cool for a minute, slice, and serve hot.
