Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to combine without overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making an indentation in the center to ensure even cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Burgers

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the burger buns lightly. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, sliced tomato, and onion. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then top with the other half of the bun.

Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips to form fries.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 7

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch.

  4. 8

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. While still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.
