Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Watermelon

Cut the watermelon into half, scoop out the flesh, and remove any seeds. Chop the watermelon into smaller pieces to make blending easier.

  2. 2

    Blend the Watermelon

In a blender, add the chopped watermelon pieces and blend until smooth. You should have about 4 cups of watermelon juice.

  3. 3

    Strain the Juice

Using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, strain the blended watermelon juice into a large bowl to remove pulp and seeds.

  4. 4

Mix in Sugar and Lemon Juice

While the juice is still fresh, add the sugar and lemon juice to the bowl of strained watermelon juice. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  5. 5

    Add Mint Leaves

Tear the mint leaves into smaller pieces and add them to the watermelon mixture for a refreshing flavor. Stir gently.

  6. 6

    Chill the Sharbat

Refrigerate the watermelon sharbat mixture for at least 30 minutes to chill before serving.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve Over Ice

Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled watermelon sharbat over the ice.

  2. 8

    Garnish and Enjoy

Garnish each glass with additional mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing watermelon sharbat!
