Chai Spice Blend

Main Ingredients

Method

Prepare the Chai Spice Blend

1

Combine Spices

In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon, ground ginger, cardamom pods, cloves, black peppercorns, star anise, and nutmeg. Set aside.

Brew the Chai

2

Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium heat.

3

Add Tea Leaves and Spices

Once the water is boiling, add 2 tablespoons of black tea leaves and the prepared chai spice blend. Stir to combine.

4

Simmer

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 5-7 minutes. This allows the flavors to infuse.

5

Strain the Mixture

After simmering, strain the tea mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl or another saucepan to remove the tea leaves and spices.

Combine with Oat Milk

6

Add Oat Milk

Return the strained tea to the saucepan and stir in 2 cups of oat milk. Heat over medium until warmed through, but do not bring to a boil.

7

Sweeten to Taste

Add your choice of sweetener (agave, honey, or sugar) to taste, stirring until dissolved.

Serve

8

Pour and Enjoy

Pour the oat milk chai into cups or mugs and enjoy it warm, perfect for a cozy day.
