Prepare the Marinade
In a large mixing bowl, combine yogurt, cream, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, green chili paste, garam masala, salt, black pepper powder, and cardamom powder. Mix well until smooth.

Marinate the Chicken
Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and mix until all pieces are well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for best flavor.

Just before cooking, fold in the chopped cilantro for added freshness.

In a large skillet or pan, heat butter or ghee over medium heat until melted.

Add Chicken
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the marinated chicken to the pan. Sauté the chicken until it is well browned on all sides, about 10-12 minutes.

Add the slit green chilies to the pan and stir well.

Pour in the water, cover the pan, and let it cook on low heat for another 15-20 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and tender. Stir occasionally.

Once cooked, transfer the Murgh Malai to a serving dish, drizzle with fresh cream, and serve hot with naan or rice.
