Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ginger

Peel the fresh ginger root and slice it thinly or chop it into small pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Lemons

Roll the lemons on a countertop to release more juice, then cut them in half and squeeze the juice into a small bowl, discarding the seeds.

Brewing the Tea

  1. 3

    Boil Water

In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Add Ginger

Once the water is boiling, add the sliced ginger to the pot and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Lemon Juice

After 10 minutes, add the freshly squeezed lemon juice to the pot and stir well.

  4. 6

    Add Honey

Stir in 4 tablespoons of honey until it dissolves completely. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.

  5. 7

    Simmer

Let the mixture simmer for another 5 minutes to combine all flavors.

Serving

  1. 8

    Strain and Serve

Remove the pot from heat and strain the tea into cups or a teapot to remove ginger pieces.

  2. 9

    Garnish (Optional)

If desired, garnish with fresh mint leaves and a cinnamon stick for added flavor.
