Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a kettle, bring 1 cup of fresh water to a boil. Ensure that the water reaches a temperature of approximately 80-85°C (176-185°F) for optimal brewing of the green tea.

  2. 2

    Measure Tea Leaves

While the water is boiling, measure out 2 teaspoons of Darjeeling green tea leaves and place them in a teapot or a cup.

Brewing

  1. 3

    Add Water to Tea Leaves

Once the water has boiled, remove it from heat and let it cool for about 30 seconds. Then pour the hot water over the tea leaves in the teapot or cup.

  2. 4

    Steep the Tea

Allow the tea to steep for 2-3 minutes. Do not over-steep, as this can make the tea bitter.

Serving

  1. 5

    Strain and Serve

After steeping, strain the tea leaves using a fine mesh strainer or a tea infuser. Pour the brewed tea into a cup.

  2. 6

    Add Optional Ingredients

If desired, add 1 teaspoon of honey for sweetness and a slice of lemon for a refreshing twist. Stir gently to combine.
