Rib Eye Steak

Method

Prepare the Bar-B-Que Sauce

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well and set aside.

Prepare the Frizzled Onions

  1. 2

    Soak the Onions

Slice the onion into thin rings and soak them in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 3

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 4

    Coat the Onions

Remove the onions from the buttermilk and dredge them in the flour mixture until well coated.

  4. 5

    Fry the Onions

In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the coated onions until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

Grill the Rib Eye Steak

  1. 6

    Prepare the Steak

Preheat your grill to high heat. Rub the rib eye steak with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 7

    Grill the Steak

Place the rib eye steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Baste with the prepared Bar-B-Que sauce during the last minute of grilling.

  3. 8

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Serve

  1. 9

    Plate and Serve

Slice the rib eye steak and serve topped with frizzled onions and extra Bar-B-Que sauce on the side.
