Crab Cakes
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Crab Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the blue crab meat, mayonnaise, breadcrumbs, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and chopped parsley. Mix gently to combine, taking care not to break up the crab meat too much. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 2
Shape the Cakes
Form the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Chill the Cakes
Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and refrigerate the crab cakes for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up.
- 4
Cook the Crab Cakes
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the crab cakes (in batches if necessary) to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 5
Serve
Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm with lightly spiced remoulade.
