Burger Preparation

Prepare the Apple-Onion Jam
In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, thyme, and salt. Cook until the apples are soft and the mixture thickens, about 15-20 minutes. Set aside.

Cook the Bacon
In another skillet, cook the thick-cut Smith bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.

Make the Burger Patties
Divide the ground beef into two equal portions and form them into balls. Season with salt and black pepper.

Assemble the Burgers
On the bottom half of each Kaiser bun, place one smashed burger patty, followed by two slices of crispy bacon, a generous spoonful of the apple-onion jam, and the top half of the bun.

Serve the double smash burgers with house fries, side salad, or fresh fruit on the side.
