Burger Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Patty

  1. 1

    Make the Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of Angus beef with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of black pepper. Mix gently until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and form each into a patty about ¾ inch thick.

Cook the Bacon and Patties

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook 4 slices of applewood smoked bacon until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

In the same skillet, add the beef patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of sharp cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Bun

Lightly toast the burger buns in the skillet until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer 1 patty with melted cheese, 2 slices of crispy bacon, baby greens, sliced jalapeño, and 1 tbsp of fig jam.

  3. 8

    Finish the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
