Prepare the Patty

Make the Patty
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of Angus beef with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of black pepper. Mix gently until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form the Patties
Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and form each into a patty about ¾ inch thick.
Cook the Bacon and Patties

Cook the Patties
In the same skillet, add the beef patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

Add Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of sharp cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
Assemble the Burger

Prepare the Bun
Lightly toast the burger buns in the skillet until golden brown.

Build the Burger
On the bottom half of each bun, layer 1 patty with melted cheese, 2 slices of crispy bacon, baby greens, sliced jalapeño, and 1 tbsp of fig jam.

Finish the Burger
Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
