Fried Pickles

Ranch Dipping Sauce

Method

Fried Pickles

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the sliced dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Make the Coating

In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

  3. 3

    Dip in Buttermilk

In another bowl, pour the buttermilk. Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing the excess to drip off.

  4. 4

    Coat the Pickles

After dipping in buttermilk, dredge each pickle slice in the flour mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated.

  5. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  6. 6

    Fry the Pickles

Fry the coated pickles in batches for 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate.

Ranch Dipping Sauce

  1. 7

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, buttermilk, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 8

    Whisk Until Smooth

Whisk the mixture until smooth and well combined.

  3. 9

    Chill the Sauce

Cover the ranch sauce and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
