Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash the bell peppers and red onion thoroughly. Cut the bell peppers in half, remove the seeds and stems, and slice into strips. Peel the red onion and slice it into thin wedges. Mince the garlic cloves.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced bell peppers, red onion, and minced garlic. Drizzle with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and fresh basil. Toss everything together until the vegetables are evenly coated.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400°F (200°C). If using a charcoal grill, prepare the coals until they are glowing and covered with white ash.

  2. 4

    Grill the Vegetables

Place the vegetable mixture in a grill basket or on a sheet of aluminum foil, creating a foil packet. Grill the vegetables for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally until they are tender and have nice grill marks. Make sure to keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

  3. 5

    Serve

Once the vegetables are cooked, remove them from the grill and let them cool for a couple of minutes. Serve warm as a side dish, or use them in salads, sandwiches, or as toppings for pizzas.
