Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Vegetables
Wash the Roma tomatoes under cold running water. Remove the stems and cut the tomatoes into bite-sized pieces.
- 2
Slice the Onion
Peel the red onion and slice it thinly. If desired, you can soak the slices in cold water for about 10 minutes to soften the taste.
- 3
Prepare the Beets
If using pre-cooked beets, peel and slice them into wedges or cubes. If raw, boil the beets until tender and then peel and slice.
- 4
Combine the Salad Ingredients
In a large salad bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, sliced red onion, beet pieces, and Kalamata olives.
- 5
Add Feta Cheese
Crumble the feta cheese over the top of the salad mixture.
- 6
Prepare the Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 7
Dress the Salad
Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine all ingredients. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- 8
Add Hot Pepper
Slice the hot pepper and add it to the salad, either whole or chopped according to your heat preference. Toss again.
- 9
Serve
Serve the Greek salad immediately as a refreshingly cold and vibrant side dish or appetizer.
