Fried Mozzarella Sticks
Method
Fried Mozzarella Sticks
- 1
Prepare the Cheese
Unwrap the string cheese or mozzarella sticks and set them aside.
- 2
Set Up the Breading Station
In three separate bowls, place the all-purpose flour in the first bowl, beat the eggs in the second bowl, and mix the bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in the third bowl.
- 3
Coat the Cheese Sticks
Take each cheese stick and roll it in the flour, ensuring that it is fully coated. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture. Press down lightly to make sure the breadcrumbs stick.
- 4
Freeze the Coated Cheese Sticks
Place the coated cheese sticks on a plate or baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes to ensure they hold their shape during frying.
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a large heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of breadcrumb into it; if it sizzles and bubbles, the oil is ready.
- 6
Fry the Sticks
Carefully add a few cheese sticks to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
- 7
Serve
Serve the fried mozzarella sticks hot with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
