BBQ Ribs Directions
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Remove the membrane from the back of the pork ribs. This is key for tender ribs. Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Prepare the Spice Rub
In a bowl, mix the home blend of spices (smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper) until well combined. Rub this mixture thoroughly over both sides of the ribs.
- 3
Marinate the Ribs
Cover the seasoned ribs with plastic wrap and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
- 4
Preheat the Grill or Oven
If you are grilling, preheat your outdoor grill to a medium-high heat (about 350°F/175°C). If using an oven, preheat it to 300°F/150°C.
- 5
Prepare the BBQ Sauce
In a saucepan, combine the BBQ sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved, which should take about 5-10 minutes.
- 6
Cook the Ribs
If grilling, place the ribs bone-side down on the grill and cook for about 2 hours, turning occasionally and basting with the BBQ sauce every 30 minutes. If cooking in the oven, place the ribs in a baking dish and cover tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, basting with sauce occasionally.

Rest and Serve
Once cooked to your desired tenderness, remove the ribs from heat and let them rest for 10-15 minutes before cutting. Serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
