BBQ Ribs

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Start by preheating your oven to 300°F (150°C). While the oven is heating, take the slab of pork ribs and place it on a clean surface. Remove the membrane on the back of the ribs if it's still intact. This ensures that the ribs become tender and absorb the flavors better.

  2. 2

    Make the Rub

In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix the ingredients together until they are well blended.

  3. 3

    Apply the Rub

Generously apply the rub mixture all over the ribs, ensuring that it covers both sides evenly. You can rub it in with your hands for better adhesion.

  4. 4

    Wrap and Bake

Wrap the coated ribs tightly in aluminum foil to lock in moisture and flavor. Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake them in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours.

  5. 5

    Apply BBQ Sauce

After 2.5 to 3 hours of baking, carefully remove the ribs from the oven and unwrap them from the foil. Brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over the ribs, coating them thoroughly.

  6. 6

    Grill the Ribs

Preheat your grill to medium heat. Place the ribs on the grill, meat side down, and cook for about 10-15 minutes, basting occasionally with more BBQ sauce, until they are caramelized and have a nice char.

  7. 7

    Rest and Serve

Once done grilling, remove the ribs from the heat and allow them to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
