Lasagna Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
Prepare the Sausage
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and Italian sausage, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Mix Ricotta Filling
In a bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, egg, half of the Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, dried oregano, and dried basil until well combined.
Cook Lasagna Noodles
Boil lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Layer the Lasagna
In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of tomato sauce on the bottom. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, half of the cooked sausage, and then a third of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers, ending with noodles and the remaining tomato sauce on top. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.
Bake
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let the lasagna cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
