Method
Cheese Sticks
- 1
Prepare the Cheese
Cut the Pepper Jack cheese into sticks approximately 1/2 inch wide and 3 inches long.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Cheese Sticks
Take one cheese stick, coat it in flour, then dip it in the egg mixture, and finally roll it in the breadcrumb mixture. Make sure each stick is fully coated. Repeat with all cheese sticks.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it is shimmering but not smoking.
- 5
Fry the Cheese Sticks
Carefully place the breaded cheese sticks in the hot oil. Fry them in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the cheese sticks from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm with house-made red gravy.
