Directions
- 1
Prepare the Cheese
Take the mozzarella cheese sticks out of the packaging and place them on a tray. Freeze the sticks for at least 30 minutes to firm them up, which helps prevent melting during frying.
- 2
- 3
Bread the Mozzarella Sticks
Remove the frozen mozzarella sticks from the freezer. Take one stick and coat it in the flour, shaking off any excess. Next, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing the excess to drip off. Finally, roll the stick in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere. Repeat this process for all cheese sticks.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can use a thermometer to check the temperature.
- 5
Fry the Mozzarella Sticks
Carefully add a few breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally for even cooking. Use a slotted spoon to remove the sticks from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
- 6
Serve
Once all mozzarella sticks are cooked, serve them hot with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
