Cheeseburger Directions
- 1
Prepare the Beef Patty
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about ΒΎ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.
- 3
- 4
Flip and Add Cheese
Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty to melt.
- 5
Toast the Buns
While the cheese melts, split the hamburger buns and toast them in a separate skillet or oven until golden brown.
- 6
Assemble the Cheeseburger
On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer lettuce leaves, followed by the cheeseburger patty, tomato slices, and pickle slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately while hot, optionally with a side of fries or chips.
