Method
Chicken Preparation
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a mixing bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In a separate shallow dish, mix together flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Bread the Chicken
Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing the flour onto the chicken to create a thick coating.
- 4
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken breasts. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Sandwich Assembly
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
On each toasted bun, place one piece of the fried chicken. Top with pickles and drizzle with Dave's sauce. Close the bun and serve immediately.
