Method

Preparation of Vegetables

  1. 1

    Shred the Cabbage

Remove the outer leaves of the green and red cabbage. Cut them into quarters and remove the core. Using a sharp knife or a mandoline, finely shred the cabbage into thin strips.

  2. 2

    Grate the Carrots

Peel the carrots and grate them using a box grater or food processor until you have 2 cups of grated carrots.

  3. 3

    Combine Vegetables

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded green cabbage, shredded red cabbage, and grated carrots. Toss them together to mix evenly.

Making the Dressing

  1. 4

    Mix Dressing Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, black pepper, and celery seed until smooth and well combined.

Combining

  1. 5

    Combine Vegetables and Dressing

Pour the dressing over the mixed vegetables in the large bowl. Toss everything together until the vegetables are fully coated in the dressing.

  2. 6

    Chill the Coleslaw

Cover the coleslaw with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together before serving.
