Method
Chicken Marinade
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Add the boneless chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Breading
- 3
Prepare the Breading Mixture
In a separate bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Bread the Chicken
Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator. Dredge each piece in the breading mixture, ensuring an even coating. Shake off any excess.
- 6
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the breaded chicken pieces into the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
- 7
Drain the Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a wire rack or paper towel to drain excess oil.
Sandwich Assembly
- 8
Assemble the Sandwich
On the bottom half of each burger bun, place a piece of fried chicken. Top with pickles, sliced tomatoes, and shredded lettuce. Drizzle with your choice of sauce, then add the top half of the bun.

Serve the sandwiches immediately while hot and enjoy!
