Preparing the Blackened Mahi Mahi

Season the Fish
Pat the mahi mahi fillets dry with a paper towel. Rub both sides with the blackening spice, making sure to coat evenly.

Cook the Fish
Add the seasoned mahi mahi fillets to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until the fish is cooked through and has a blackened crust.

Remove and Rest
Once cooked, remove the fillets from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes before assembling the sandwich.
Assembling the Sandwich

Prepare the Buns
Slice the artisan challah buns in half and lightly toast them if desired.

Layer the Ingredients
On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a blackened mahi mahi fillet, tomato slices, red onion slices, and pickles.

Add Tartar Sauce
Spread 2 tablespoons of tartar sauce on the top half of the bun and place it on top of the sandwich.

Serve the blackened mahi mahi sandwich immediately with your choice of side.
