Wonton Filling

Method

Wonton Assembly

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Fill the Wontons

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Add about 1 tablespoon of the pork filling to the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half diagonally to form a triangle, and press to seal. Ensure there are no air pockets. You can also bring the two bottom points together to form a ring, if desired.

  3. 3

    Cook the Wontons

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully drop in the filled wontons and cook for about 4-5 minutes or until they float to the surface and are cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Chili Sauce

In a separate pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add 3 tablespoons of red chili paste and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes. Pour in 1 cup of chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. 5

    Serve

Place the cooked wontons in a bowl and ladle the hot red chili sauce over them. Garnish with additional green onions if desired.
