Method
Preparation
- 1
Gather Ingredients
Collect all the ingredients needed for the sandwich, including shaved turkey, Swiss cheese, and your choice of bread.
- 2
Choose Bread
Select the type of bread you want to use: white, wheat, or rye. If you want, you can prepare two sandwiches with different types of bread.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 3
Spread Butter
If using butter, spread a thin layer on one side of each slice of bread to add flavor and help with browning.
- 4
Layer Turkey
Place a generous amount of shaved turkey breast on one slice of bread.
- 5
Add Swiss Cheese
Lay the Swiss cheese slices over the turkey, covering it completely.
- 6
Add Optional Ingredients
If desired, add lettuce leaves, tomato slices, mustard, or mayonnaise on top of the cheese.
- 7
Top with Bread
Place the second slice of bread on top, with the buttered side facing out.
Cooking
- 8
Heat the Pan
Preheat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
- 9
Grill the Sandwich
Place the assembled sandwich in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- 10
Serve
Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice it in half if desired, and serve warm.
