Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Meat

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and chorizo sausage. Cook until browned, stirring occasionally, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

Add diced onion, minced garlic, bell pepper, and jalapeño to the pot. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables are softened.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Stir in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.

  2. 4

    Add Liquid

Pour in the beef broth and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  3. 5

    Simmer

Reduce heat to low and cover the pot. Let simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finishing Touches

  1. 6

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the chili and adjust seasonings as necessary. Add more salt or spices to your preference.

  2. 7

    Serve

Ladle the chili into bowls and serve hot. Optionally, garnish with shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions.
