Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ground Beef

In a bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of black pepper. Use your hands to mix until evenly combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place 1 slice of your choice of cheese (American, Swiss, or Cheddar) on each patty. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Build the Burgers

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a slice of tomato, a patty with melted cheese, pickles, and a tablespoon of ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
