Burger Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the burger juicy.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Burger Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

If using a grill, preheat it to medium-high heat. If using a skillet, heat a little oil over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty with melted cheese, slices of tomato, and pickles. Add ketchup and mustard to taste.

  3. 8

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and press down gently. Serve immediately.
