Method
Cooking Bacon
- 1
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the thick cut hardwood smoked bacon slices. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until crispy. Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
Preparing Vegetables
- 2
Prepare the Lettuce
Wash the lettuce leaves thoroughly under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towel. Tear or chop the leaves to fit the sandwich.
- 3
Slice the Tomato
Wash the tomato and slice it into thick rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 4
Spread the Mayonnaise
Take two slices of your chosen bread (white, wheat, or rye) and spread 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise on one side of each slice.
- 5
Layer the Ingredients
On one slice of bread with mayonnaise, layer the lettuce, followed by the sliced tomato, and then the crispy bacon slices. Top with the second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down.
- 6
Cut and Serve
Cut the sandwich diagonally or in half, as preferred. Serve immediately.
