Cooking Pasta

Bring 4 liters of water to a boil in a large pot. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Add macaroni pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions (usually 8–10 minutes). Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
Making the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Add anchovy fillets and stir, breaking them up with a spoon until they dissolve into the oil.

Add red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
Combining and Serving

Add the drained macaroni to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly. If needed, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.

Cook together for 1–2 minutes to allow flavors to combine.

Serve immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
