Cook the Pasta

Bring 4 liters of water to a boil in a large pot. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Add the linguini and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 9-11 minutes.

Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
Make the Sauce

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the anchovy fillets and stir until they dissolve into the oil, about 2 minutes.

Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add canned tomatoes and crush them with a spoon. Simmer for 10-12 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Stir in the chopped parsley and remove from heat.
