Lasagna Ingredients
Method
Lasagna Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces. Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Cheese Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, fresh basil, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until smooth.
- 3
Assemble the Lasagna
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top. Spread one-third of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by one-third of the mozzarella cheese and then one-third of the meat sauce. Repeat the layers two more times, finishing with meat sauce and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- 4
Bake the Lasagna
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil (to prevent sticking, spray foil with cooking spray). Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
- 5
Cool and Serve
Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
