Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Sauté the Mushrooms

  1. 5

    Melt the Butter

In a skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.

  2. 6

    Add Garlic

Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.

  3. 7

    Cook the Mushrooms

Add the sliced mushrooms, fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Sauté until the mushrooms are tender and browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 8

    Add Cheese

Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking, allowing it to melt slightly.

  2. 9

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of the burger bun, place lettuce leaves, followed by the patty with melted cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and a slice of tomato. Add mayonnaise to taste, and top with the other half of the bun.
