Prepare the Burger Patties

Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.

Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Patties
Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

In a skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.

Assemble the Burger

Add Cheese
Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking, allowing it to melt slightly.

Build the Burger
On the bottom half of the burger bun, place lettuce leaves, followed by the patty with melted cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and a slice of tomato. Add mayonnaise to taste, and top with the other half of the bun.
