Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until evenly combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Forming Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Grilling

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the desired doneness is reached.

  2. 4

    Resting

Remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes to retain their juices.

Preparing the Toppings and Sauce

  1. 5

    Preparing Toppings

Wash the lettuce leaves and slice the tomato. Set aside.

  2. 6

    Making the Special Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, and garlic powder until well combined.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 7

    Building the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked beef patty, tomato slice, and a generous amount of special sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
