Method

Preparation of Vegetables

  1. 1

    Prepare the Lettuce

Wash the lettuce thoroughly under cold running water. Remove any wilted or damaged leaves. Tear the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.

  2. 2

    Chop the Tomatoes

Wash the tomatoes under cold water. Remove the stems and chop them into bite-sized pieces. Add them to the salad bowl with the lettuce.

  3. 3

    Slice the Cucumber

Peel the cucumber if desired. Cut it in half lengthwise and then slice it into half-moon shapes. Add the cucumber slices to the salad bowl.

  4. 4

    Dice the Red Onion

Peel the red onion and slice it thinly. If desired, soak the slices in cold water for a few minutes to reduce the sharpness. Add the diced onion to the salad bowl.

  5. 5

    Chop the Bell Pepper

Wash the bell pepper, remove the seeds, and chop it into bite-sized pieces. Add it to the salad bowl.

Making the Dressing

  1. 6

    Combine the Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, honey, and Dijon mustard until well combined.

  2. 7

    Season the Dressing

Add salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 8

    Mix the Salad

Pour the dressing over the prepared vegetables in the salad bowl. Toss gently until all ingredients are well coated with the dressing.

  2. 9

    Add Optional Toppings

If desired, sprinkle feta cheese and olives over the top of the salad.

  3. 10

    Serve

Serve immediately as a side dish or light main course.
