Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice the Pickles

Carefully slice the dill pickles into 1/4 inch thick chips using a sharp knife.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, prepare the breading station: one for the flour mixture, one for the egg wash, and another for the final breading.

Breading

  1. 3

    Mix Breading Ingredients

In the first bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until combined.

  2. 4

    Prepare Egg Wash

In the second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until smooth.

  3. 5

    Bread the Pickles

Take a pickle chip, coat it in the flour mixture, dip it in the egg wash, and then return it to the flour mixture for a final coating. Repeat for all pickle chips.

Frying

  1. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 7

    Fry the Pickle Chips

Carefully place the breaded pickle chips in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.

  3. 8

    Drain and Serve

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried pickle chips and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm.
