Prepare the Liquid
In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

Cook the Grits
Once boiling, slowly whisk in 1 cup of corn grits. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add Cream and Season
After 20-25 minutes, stir in 1 cup of heavy cream, 2 tablespoons of butter, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Continue to cook for another 5 minutes until creamy.

Incorporate Cheese
Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
For the Shrimp

Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.

Sauté Garlic
Add 2 minced garlic cloves to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Cook the Shrimp
Add 1 pound of peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of paprika and 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

Finish with Lemon
Remove from heat, squeeze 2 tablespoons of lemon juice over the shrimp, and toss with 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley.
