Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it is hot enough for baking the cakes.

Prep the Ramekins
Grease four 6-ounce ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder to prevent sticking. Place them on a baking tray.
Making the Cake Batter

Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the semi-sweet chocolate and unsalted butter together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring constantly. Then fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
Baking the Cake

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.
