Add Garlic
Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Make Roux
Sprinkle the flour over the sautéed vegetables, stirring constantly for about 10-15 minutes until the roux reaches a light brown color.

Add Crawfish and Spices
Add the crawfish tails, cayenne pepper, paprika, thyme, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

Add Broth
Gradually pour in the chicken broth, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

While the étouffée simmers, prepare the white rice according to package instructions.
