Mushroom Filling
Method
Preparation
- 1
Clean the Mushrooms
Gently wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt. Remove the stems and set them aside for later use.
- 2
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- 3
Chop the Mushroom Stems
Finely chop the mushroom stems that were set aside. Add them to the cheese mixture and stir to incorporate.
- 4
Stuff the Mushrooms
Using a spoon, generously fill each portobello mushroom cap with the cheese filling, pressing it slightly to ensure it holds.
Cooking
- 5
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 6
Arrange the Mushrooms
Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle olive oil over the top of each stuffed mushroom.
- 7
Bake the Mushrooms
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- 8
Serve
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm as an appetizer or side dish.
