Blood Orange Shrub

Prepare the Blood Oranges
Juice the blood oranges until you have 4 cups of juice. Strain the juice to remove any seeds and pulp.

Make the Shrub
In a medium saucepan, combine the blood orange juice, sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved.

Cool and Store Shrub
Once the mixture is combined, remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature. Pour the shrub into a clean bottle or jar and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before using.

Prepare the Glass
Rub the rim of a glass with a lime wedge and dip it into salt to coat the rim.

Combine Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, blood orange shrub, fresh lime juice, and triple sec. Add ice cubes to fill the shaker halfway.

Shake the Margarita
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds.

Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice. Garnish with a slice of blood orange.
