Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until the dough starts to come together.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare Bananas

Peel the bananas and slice them into thin rounds.

Calzone Assembly

  1. 6

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll each portion out on a floured surface into a circle about 8 inches in diameter.

  2. 7

    Add Filling

Spread 1/2 cup of Nutella on one half of each dough circle, leaving a border around the edges. Top with banana slices.

  3. 8

    Seal Calzones

Fold the dough over the filling to form a semicircle and press the edges together to seal them. Use a fork to crimp the edges for extra security.

Baking

  1. 9

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 10

    Bake Calzones

Place the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

  3. 11

    Add Toppings

Once baked, remove from the oven and immediately drizzle with Arizona honey and sprinkle with sliced almonds and fleur de sel.
