Method
Preparing the Steak and Onions
- 1
Cook the Steak
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper. Place the steak in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest.

Cooking the Bacon
- 3
Cook the Bacon
In a separate skillet, cook the bacon slices over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Assembling the Cheesesteak BLT
- 4
Prepare the Bread
Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through. You want to create a pocket for the fillings.
- 5
Assemble the Ingredients
Layer the sautéed onions on the bottom of each hoagie roll. Slice the rested steak thinly against the grain and place on top of the onions. Add 2 slices of white American cheese on top of the steak in each roll. Place the assembled rolls under a broiler for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 6
Add Toppings
Once the cheese has melted, remove the rolls from the oven. Add crispy bacon slices, followed by a layer of romaine lettuce and slices of tomato. Spread mayonnaise on the top half of the roll, then close the sandwich.
